Mutual Commitment in an 8-Week Personal Training Series

A “Mutual Commitment” between a client and personal trainer involves clear, shared responsibilities and expectations to ensure success throughout the eight-week program.

Client Undertakings

•       Attend all scheduled sessions and arrive on time.

•       Communicate openly about goals, preferences, challenges, and any health concerns.

•       Follow the agreed-upon training and nutrition plans, including completing any “homework” or exercises outside of sessions.

•       Provide feedback and report progress or setbacks honestly.

•       Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional relationship with the trainer.

Personal Trainer Undertakings

•       Assess the client’s fitness level and collaboratively set realistic, time-bound goals.

•       Design and adapt a personalized training plan based on the client’s needs, abilities, and progress.

•       Provide clear instruction, encouragement, and constructive feedback.

•       Monitor technique for safety and effectiveness, minimizing injury risk.

•       Foster a supportive, motivating environment and maintain professional boundaries.

•       Offer ongoing support, celebrate achievements, and adjust plans as needed to keep the client on track.

Shared Responsibilities

·      Build and maintain trust through honest, two-way communication.

·      Respect each other’s time, boundaries, and commitments.

·      Regularly review progress and adjust goals or strategies as needed.

·      This partnership is not just transactional; it’s a collaborative journey where both parties actively participate, support each other, and celebrate shared successes.
